Friday 14th- Celebrate fine French cuisine paired with delicious wines with wonderful chef Yohann on Bastille Day

Bastille Day.  Our wonderful Gallic Chef Yohan will be celebrating his French National Day by serving a traditional menu.

For only £75pp, you will be greeted on arrival with a superb glass of La Forge Sparkling wine from the Languedoc followed by a YPWS paired glass of wine with each course. We have limited availability for this evening which is guaranteed to be great value for money with Yohann producing some delicious French cuisine.

On arrival you will be treated to a superb award winning sparkling wine from the Languedoc.

Rillette de porc

A French dish of potted pork with garlic, juniper and brandy served with grilled bread and gherkins

(Sarthe (Le Mans), Tours, and Anjou, all in central France, are notable sources of rillettes.)

Selected Wine: La Forge Estate Organic and Sulphur Free Chardonnay – if you like Chablis you will love this wonderful choice that  works perfectly with Rillette de porc.

Maquereau Escabèche ,salade de fenouil ciselé

Mackerel fillet in a tangy sauce of olive oil, vinegar, herbs, and spices,

served with a salad of fennel shaving

(Escabèche is originally from the Mediterranean region)

Selected Wine: Le Pied Marin Picpoul De Pinet Blanc is a Languedoc Classic .

Le trou normand

Apple sorbet topped with Calvados

(Literally, the Norman hole. The course is served in the traditional belief it shall help with digestion and restore appetite)

Cassoulet au confit de canard

Traditional confit of duck leg in slow-cooked casserole of white beans

(The region once known as the province of Languedoc is the traditional homeland of the cassoulet)

Selected Wine: Reserve Saint Dominique Ventoux Rouge from the Southern Rhone is a perfect accompaniment. 

Le mille-feuille façon Tatin

Chef Yohann own take on the traditional tart Tatin

(The tarte Tatin was created accidentally at the Hotel Tatin in Lamotte-Beuvron in the the Sologne region in north-central France)
