59 teams took part in the fun filled fiesta Captain’s Day 4BBB charity event which was won by Andrew Davies (9) and Mark Jones (17) with 47 points. The fireworks on the course began with Davies firing a birdie and he added two more in a two over par performance for the 15 holes he completed. Jones added a four pointer birdie and six pars where necessary.  Their worst score was a bogey apiece on the shortest hole for their only one pointer as it stroke index 18.

in second place on countback with the winners were the husband and wife team of Julian and Sara Brindle playing off (18) and (38) respectively. Julian carded four over for his 11 holes while Sara contributed 18 points from her seven vital contribution.

Jonathan Corke (1) had a corker of a round recording five under par over 13 holes leaving Gareth Morris (9) to chip in with five pars so they finished third with 45 points. Foley Gort (4) and Ross Byrne (11) had resigned themselves to having a terrible round after having to enter a triple bogey on the 2nd and a double bogey for a solitary point on the 3rd. After that they got going completing the rest of the course in three under par for fourth place with 44 points. Two other teams also scored 44 points, John Newson (6) and Guy Murray (13) just pipping Mark Reynolds (16) and Roger Raatgever (12) to the bragging rights.

With the handicap allowance set at 9/10th the odds were against the lower handicapped teams which is why JJ Moore (3) and Andrew Challenor (-1) only came eighth with their fantastic five under par performance worth only 43 points.

25 players participated in the second Flower Power open 9 hole Stableford on the previous Wednesday. David Matthews (18) won with 23 points, David Allan (11) was second on 19 with Louna Vermeulen (19) taking third spot with 18 points ahead of Peter Easthope (6) and Guy Pickard (6) respectively.
