Castletown Golf Club

The weather got the better of the third round of Winter Eclectic Medal series at Castletown on Saturday and no one had ventured out in either of the twelve hole competitions usually played on Wednesdays and Sundays. Over a hundred players have so far signed up for the final round of the Winter League Stableford scheduled for this coming Saturday.

With St Patrick’s Day conveniently falling on a Saturday this year we are hoping for massive support for our Paddy’s Day open event taking place on 17th March. As this will be a fund raising event for the Captain’s chosen charity the Links have very kindly agreed to allow non members to enter this four person AM-AM competition for £25 including green fees. Members will pay the usual £4 entry fee and our six day and lady members are also welcome to join in after 1:00pm.

A flyer for this event has been produced and shortly will be circulated by email to all island clubs. More details can be found online at or on our Facebook page. Apart from fancy dress prizes plus nearest the pin and longest drive competitions players will each receive a complimentary half pint of Guinness. No.19 will be serving up a special Irish Stew for a very reasonable price so enter online or telephone the Castletown Pro Shop on 822211 to reserve your tee time.

Our Pro, Charlie Simpson, has asked me to remind you that he is still holding introductory lessons for £15 and because miracles don’t happen in an hour he is charging £25 for each supplementary lesson. Don’t let bad weather or dark nights put you off because coaching takes place in the indoor performance centre which is fully equipped to track all shots and help provide vital feedback.
