LITTON STORMS TO FINAL WIN OF THE SEASON
Dominic Litton (17) finished the season in style winning the stormy Stableford on Saturday with 35 points plus supplementing his income with one of only three 2’s scored on the day. Blobs on the 3rd and 15th were counteracted with a birdie on the 13th, five pars, seven nett pars and just three nett bogeys.
‘Seve’ Jeffers (3) took time to get into the groove scoring just 13 of his 34 points on a front nine which was dominated by bogeys and an uncharacteristic N/R on the 6th. Then Jeffers jumped into gear with a two under par back nine which was even more remarkable given the windy weather.
Bryan McMahon (8) was another competitor to have a game of two halves but he did have the distinction of scoring on every hole despite the three club wind on the 5th, 6th and 7th. 19 points on the back nine came courtesy of a three over par performance for third place on countback.
Tom Harris (+2) completed the course in a creditable three over par for 31 points to pick up the category 1/2 prize after five bogeys and two birdies. Jonathan Wild (16) had the same points tally to take the category 3/4 prize but, unlike the other prize winners, he scored heavier on the outward half.
David Campbell (18) plodded on even after five N/Rs and was rewarded with the senior section prize for 15th place with 27 points.
So far 95 players have signed up for the first round in the Winter Eclectic series taking place this coming weekend.
Happy New Year to you all.
