PETE THOMAS WINS MR VICE’S SPLENDID NEW TROPHY

The splendid new Vice-Captain's trophy was won by Pete Thomas (8) who plotted his way round in five over par in the challenging conditions. Four birdies, seven pars, six bogeys and a slippery seven on the longest drive hole, the 11th, all added up to 41 winning points after the two shot white tees allowance.

EXCELLENT TWO WAY TIE IN SMP PARTNERS JULY MONTHLY MEDAL

There was a two way tie on Saturday in the SMP Partners sponsored monthly medal. Carding 81, nett 67 after the white tee’s amendment, Terry Ditchfield (12) took a triple bogey eight on the 12th but his back nine beat Chris Westerman (19) on countback. Starting with an easy birdie Ditchfield avoided the rough to complete the first half in just three over par and, discounting the aberration on the 12th, would have repeated that performance on the back nine.

LYNDA SIMPSON PIPS PRICE TO BECOME CLUB CHAMPION

Simpson added a six over par 42 to her outward 47 making 89 to add to her first round 81 for a trophy winning total of 170. Price had won the second round by one shot with 44 + 44 for 88, but with her opening 83 she came agonisingly close with a cumulative total of 171.

NOON AND KEEGAN CROWNED AS CLUB CHAMPIONS

Robert Noon and Gez Bradley had to be separated on countback but Noon got the nod in the blue tees club championship while Steve Keegan claimed the senior's title by three clear shots.

BRADLEY AND MOORE LEAD THE WAY IN THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Practice paid dividends for Gez Bradley (2) the blue tees winner of the first round of The International Stock Exchange (TISE) sponsored club championship at Castletown Golf Club on Saturday. Former multi-times golfer of the year Dennis Moore (9) showed his class with a five over par 77, nett 68, to occupy pole position after the first round of the senior section yellow tees contest.

TWO SUPER SEVENS FOR PRESIDENT’S CUP WINNER LEWIS HOWLAND

Sunday 16th June 2019

The worthy winner of the President's Cup with 42 points was late starter Lewis Howland (6) who birdied the 3rd, 4th, 12th and 15th, which enabled him to play the first seven in two under par and repeat the feat on the last seven.
